Styling + Custom Looks : @marta.del.rio Beauty: @alexandraafrench using @patmcgrathreal Hair: @antoinemartinez When Quenlin asked me about channeling Grace Jones I jumped at the chance as I’m such a massive fan girl of both Grace and the artist who created the originals @jeanpaulgoudeofficial - I’m also obsessed with Grace’s autobiography - I have read excerpts out loud to people as I am so inspired by the words. It’s all about resisting the pull of the obvious. Anyhow - in recreating these images with a new team I was struck just by how genius the originals are and how iconic they have become. They really do stand the test of time. To recreate them is my love letter and my thank you for creating such exquisite images that have held up for all these years. I highly recommend a deep dive into Jeans work and I was playing Grace Jones on loud speaker during and in post production. Felt very inspired. But all credit goes to the original artists Grace and Jean - and it helps spectacularly when you have someone as dynamic and divine as Quenlin to channel that energy.
